Our Photographic Treasure Hunt!
A ‘Photographic Treasure Hunt’ is an exciting and fun way of taking photos of things we can find all around us, and a brilliant tool to teach our students about visual literacy. It’s wonderful to see how each student interprets the task we give them. It is also a great way to brush up on all the knowledge our students have gained about photography throughout the school term. With our amazing Nikon Coolpix W100 cameras, it is really easy to find and photograph all the challenges from the Photographic Treasure Hunt list. Many of the challenges on our treasure hunt focused on creativity. Such as “take a photo from an ant’s point of view”, or “take a photo of your reflection.” Some of the tasks were more about exploring and experimenting with the settings and effects on the camera. For example, using the flash to make the photo look brighter, or creating a photo using a particular effect that the camera offers such as ‘Neon’ or ‘Mirror’. We are constantly challenging our students to take brilliant photographs!
Our students used their imagination on the Photographic Treasure Hunt and produced lots of brilliant shots! Their knowledge of their cameras shined through with their use of different effects. Our students’ photos are super creative and we love what they captured!
The After School Photography Club students were finding, creating and taking photos to complete a Photographic Treasure Hunt. If you love these photos, you’ll love our Instagram page!
