Action Photography at After School Photography Club!
This week at our after school photography clubs the theme has been ‘ACTION!’. However, due to Storm Gareth passing through, two clubs had to be held inside as it was too wet out! So we had to improvise with ‘Photo Stations’. But lets start with Action Photography!
We started the class by showing the children photographs taken by professional photographers for inspiration and to show them what they can achieve. We showed them work by Chris Steele-Perkins, Martin Parr & Susan Meiselas.

The children used the ‘Take a Series of Pictures’ (action) setting on their Nikon Coolpix W100 cameras. Using this setting allows them to take a burst of photographs (lots of photos one after the other) to ensure they capture the exact moment they want. Here are some of the best photographs from our Action kids!

‘Photo Stations’
‘Photo Stations’ was our rainy day theme. For this theme we set up 4 stations around the room each with different photographic tasks for the kids to complete. The stations included selfies, marble race, still life & whiteboards. So the children had to think about their photographs and what settings they would use to make it the best it can be. Here are some of the best photographs taken by our students:
