Week 9 at after school photography club: Black and white!

This week at our after school photography clubs for kids we were learning all about how to take great black and white photos.

Black and white can be a really effective way to change your photos and make them more emotional & dramatic. It also makes the kids think more carefully about their photos as whats through the lens doesn’t look like whats in real life. It will also get them to focus on the contrasting light.

We showed the children at photography club some examples of black and white photos from famous photographers. Jean GaumyPeter MarlowRaymond Depardon

Jean Gaumy. Auvergne. Cantal. May 1991. Raulhac area.
