Capturing Autumn Colours at Hatchlands Park, Surrey
We kicked off October half term with a ‘Capturing Autumn Colours’ photography course for kids & teens. Hatchlands Park in Surrey is a beautiful location all year round. However Autumn is particularly stunning. The colours are incredible and the whole place glows with the glorious Autumn light.
Kids Photography Course
The day started with our kids (ages 7-11) photography course. We started the session with talking about how the kids cameras work, and which settings they will use to capture Autumn colours. The flower setting, landscape setting, action setting, firework setting & compositional techniques were a few of the things we went over. We also showed them the work of famous photographers to inspire them. We then head out to practice their new skills!
Here are a few of their best photographs!
Teens Photography Course
In the afternoon we welcomed the teens (ages 12-15). In a similar lay out to the kids course, we spent the first part of the session talking about how their camera work, & which settings they’ll be using throughout the course. We went over aperture, shutter speed & compositional techniques like the rule of thirds.
Capturing Autumn colours is all about encapsulating all that Autumn is in one photograph, or a series of images. Our teens did exactly that! They used their camera settings successfully and thought about each image carefully. Check out some of their photos!
Wow! How amazing are these? We are so impressed. There is so much to photograph this autumn, from the falling leaves to the long shadows and, of course, the amazing colours.
