Last week in our after school photography clubs the children’s assignment was to photograph every colour of the rainbow, focusing on taking simple pictures that portray the colour as the subject. Spring is a great time of year to experiment with different colours.

The aim of the session was to ensure the children used the green square to take nice sharp photos as well as use the other settings on the camera to make the image more colourful. They also enjoy using the setting which makes certain colours stand out while everything else is black and white.

They loved running around the field trying to find the brightest possible colours, most of which came from some gorgeous spring flowers.

It was great to see them using their skills to take photos from different angles and using the macro setting when necessary to make sure their images were sharp and in focus.

This week the children got some inspiration from famous photographers incluing Joakim Kraemer and William Eggleston.
