Get them started on the fundamentals of photography and composition with a photography course for kids. We help children learn the basics of creative photography in a fun and relaxed workshop. At Sharp Shots, our simple message – compose, focus, and click – doesn’t just serve our young students well in their photography. Young people growing up in a fast-paced world need opportunities to develop their focus and composure, and our photography workshops for kids are the perfect way to build their creative skills alongside their confidence and character.
We place safeguarding as our top priority. All tutors and programme leaders must pass their DBS screening and we put careful measures in place to ensure students online safety.
Photography courses for children (7 – 11)
We run children’s photography workshops on a variety of topics year-round at amazing venues and museums throughout the UK and London. Perfect for creative children who need some guidance in how to channel their ideas, this day course could plant the seeds of a lifelong interest or even a budding career.
All our kids’ photography courses teach children about composition, the practical basics, and fun ways to explore their creativity. They’ll build their confidence in using their own camera (or they can hire a Nikon W100 from us) to produce photos worthy of a pro. We teach our students:
- The basics of camera mechanics
- The use of camera settings
- The fundamentals of composition
- How to apply fun effects
- How to take great photographs

Private photography tuition for children
For the young photographer who is keen to specialise, we also offer private tuition – if they can’t make our course dates, they don’t need to miss out. With one-to-one tuition they can focus on what they most enjoy photographing, and we’ll make sure we cover the skills they want to develop.
