Photographing Halloween at After School Photography Club

Photographing Halloween is so much fun! The kids at our after school photography clubs love dressing up and capturing spooky photos! To inspire the students work we showed them photographs taken by well known photographers, Alex Majoli, Bruno Barbey & Stuart Franklin.

There are many ways you can photograph Halloween. From using black and white and creative light to illuminate certain spooky parts of the image, to using bright colours for a playful photograph. You don’t even need scary outfits to take a spooky photo, Stuart Franklin’s shadow image is super effective and really easy to create! It is a great theme that encourages the students to think about each image and how they want the viewer to feel when they see it. It gets them pressing all the buttons and having fun with photography.

Here are some of their best Halloween photographs!
