This week our after school photography club students have been photographing lines!
Each week at after school photography club we have a different theme. Some weeks its a technical theme like using a specific camera setting, and some weeks its compositional. This week it was all about composition. It may sound very simple, but photographing lines can be really effective. We wanted to encourage the after school photography club kids to look for lines in their surroundings and photograph them creatively. We introduced the black and white setting on the camera and taught them about photographing from different angles and using lines to lead the eye into the photograph. To inspire their work we showed them photographs by famous photographers Bill Brandt and Alexander Rodchenko.
Our students really took to the challenge and captured some amazing photographs. Here are a few of the best!
