Sound, smell, taste, sight and touch may not seem like easy things to photograph, but in our after school photography clubs this week we will be doing just that! Our 5 senses can be photographed literally, eg. a photo of your nose or eye or tongue, but we want to encourage the children to photograph more than the literal and get creative. A pungent flower, food, a musical instrument, something sharp. We will ask the children to think about how to depict these senses in as many ways they can think of.

We will be showing the children the work of Josef Koudelka, Martin Parr and Philippe Halsman for inspiration.

As usual the children will continue to use the green focusing square on the camera to make sure their photographs are as sharp as possible. They will be encouraged to think about angles and perspective. Zooming right in at certain parts of the face compared to zooming out to get the whole face or body in the frame.
