The theme at our after school photography clubs this week is Jigsaw puzzles! We will be asking the children to choose a subject they want to photograph and then split it up in 4, or 6, or even 9 photos. They will need to use their imaginations to picture each individual photograph slotting together to create one big photograph, like a jigsaw puzzle! It can be quite challenging as the children have to really think hard about how the final image will look. To help them visually understand the theme, we will show them the work of Doug and Mike Starn, Mark Power and Tacita Dean.
It is important that the children make sure each photograph is really sharp and in focus, because if one of them isn’t then it could ruin the whole effect! This theme will teach the kids how to visualise a final image, work together if they need help, and learn patience to achieve the perfect final shot!
Keep up to date with how the children get on at the photography club by following us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
