Here we are, the final week of after school photography club for 2022!

To celebrate their journey, the class were tasked with 14 different phrases, which the children then interpreted in their own way through photographs. As if telling a story with a single photo! They could either photograph what they see, or create something themselves. Fun examples were ‘the 3 eyed, 4 armed monster’ where the children used effects on the camera to multiply themselves. ‘The Colour Thief’ and ‘The Scary Shadow’ were other good ones which tested their creative levels in camera.

Being December, our dark and gloomy afternoons meant very little light to work with. Therefore flash was another obstacle the children needed to use to their benefit. Although ‘The Scary Shadow’ proved to be a challenge and children needed to work with external sources of light.

What I felt worked well with this task is how the children worked together with some tasks to achieve their goal. Some tasks required one to take the photo whilst the other took centre stage in the photo.
