This week at after school photography club the kids are learning all about Action Photography!

Action Photography is one of the kids favourite things to learn. They love running and jumping and capturing their friends frozen in time. To inspire their images for this weeks theme we showed them photographs by photographers Philippe Halsman and Jeff Cohen. We also showed them some photographs taken at the olympics.

We encouraged the kids to think creatively about their Action photos. Get low and make the subject look big, remove all background so your subject looks like their floating etc. We asked them to run, jump, flick their hair and we even provided them with ribbons to twirl around. They either used the ‘take a series of pictures’ setting on their Nikon Coolpix cameras to take multiple photos, or they used self timer to photograph themselves.
