Photographing in black and white is a great way to experiment with light and contrasting tones. We love the contrast in snow covered mountainous landscape taken by Brazilian photographer Sebastiao Salgado, and Paul Strand’s ‘White Fence’.
This week in after school photography clubs, we are teaching our students how to use the black and white setting on their Nikon cameras to take contrasting black and white photos. Students are encouraged to take dramatic shots by using light and shadows, and this is what some of our sharp shooters came up with!
