This follow on DofE online course is for students who have completed a Sharp Shots DofE camera course previously. It has been expertly built to cater for the DofE student who wants to build on their camera & compositional knowledge for bronze, silver and gold awards.

FAQs
1. Does it matter what camera I use?
Not at all, we welcome any camera model and type. We use Canons & Nikons on the course, however, the course is created with material applicable to most cameras.
2. How long is the course?
The course will take place over 12 weeks, with one lesson opening each week. As it is an online on-demand course, the lessons will be readily available to watch online each week as the course progresses.
3. Can I share my images during the course?
We have created a closed Facebook group that is only accessible to our DofE online photography course members. We use this page to show weekly progression to adhere to the DofE requirments and as a space to share images, and also draw inspiration from others.
Our members only Facebook group for the DofE skills course is full of students interacting, making new friends and gaining their feedback. We have many students photography work that can be browsed for inspiration!
4. What is the layout of the course?
There will be a video lesson & course information for each weekly assignment as well as loads of photography tips and tricks!
5. What do I receive at the end when I have completed the course?
Once you’ve sent in your final portfolio of images, we will then complete your DofE skills assessment, file and report this with the DofE. You will receive a certificate of completion from us and you will have a portfolio of your work to show off to family and friends. Parents – there will now be a new designated photographer to record all of your family holidays and events!
6. What is the course content?
There will be a video introduction from Lillie, as well as a welcome information providing an introduction to the course. The topics covered in lessons are as follows:

7. Tutor feedback for DofE skills?
The course is very explanatory and detailed, however, occasional feedback is given on DofE on-demand & Smartphone course if the tutor feels the weekly photos provided need some guidance.
8. DofE On-demand course support?
Sharp Shots are more than happy to provide support – DofE photography support will be given by emailing dofe@sharpshotsphotoclub.co.uk . Support or questions are unlikley to be answered through any other channel including social media (Facebook messaging, Instagram, etc) or any other Sharp Shots email address
9. Do I have to provide evidence of weekly progression?
In short, yes you do. Sharp Shots have created this course so that it’s super easy for you to adhere to the mandatory DofE requirements –
- Online DofE students need to use the Facebook members only group to show their work to the tutor
- The tutor will assess and ‘like’ the page to show that the photos have been assessed for that week.
10. The Final DofE Skills assessment:
Sharp Shots have created a seamless assessment process for your DofE Skills course, keep your photo posting up to date and follow the course assignments and we’ll take care of the final assessment –
- The final DofE assessment is made at the end of the 12 week course.
- Sharp Shots will carry out the assessment and file with the DofE direct as we are an Approved Activity Provider.
- We require each online DofE student to send in 24 photos (2 for each weekly assignment) via WeTransfer
- Wetransfer instructions are given within the online course.
- Sharp Shots can only accept the photographs via Wetransfer.
