Brighton is a great place for photographs, and we want to our students to learn how to capture it through their camera lenses. Our students will learn how their camera works and what settings to use to capture the beauty of Brighton on today’s course. We will go over camera mechanics, explaining how aperture and shutter speed can affect their images and add creative style. Our students will spend the majority of the class outdoors photographing the beautiful Brighton Pier, seaside and hustle and bustle of the city itself.

ONCA is located in the centre of Brighton a few yards from The eclectic Lanes, The train station, ample parking and a short walk to the sea shore.
The building is situated in a beautiful Regency Row on St Georges Place, overlooking St Peters Church and the park.
Great food and diverse shopping can be found in the streets surrounding.
- Drop off is on Trafalgar St, 20 m from the entrance.
- Parking can be found at The Trafalgar Street car park (250 m)
- Brighton Train Station is a 3min walk along Trafalgar Street (400 m)
- Regular buses stop outside the door on St Georges Place.

Street Photography

Photograph the streets of Brighton like a pro! We’ll start off teaching our students how the camera works, discussing aperture, shutter speed and ISO and doing fun tasks to understand how each part of the camera works. We’ll also look at famous street photographers’ work such as Bill Brandt, Carolyn Drake and Robert Frank to inspire our young photographers to create great images through their own camera lenses. We’ll then go out and photograph the Brighton lanes looking for inspiring compositions and interesting perspectives! Your teen will finish with a wonderful set of street photographs showing off their new skills.

Fee: £60 (Optional additional £10 for DSLR camera hire)
Our teens will learn how to capture the bright spring in Brighton, through understanding how their camera works and learning some fun compositional tips to do in camera. Aperture, shutter speed and ISO will be explained and our students will use the camera mechanics creatively in their images. Together, we’ll go out into the lanes of Brighton, capturing the colours of the streets and shops, and then we’ll head over the seaside capturing the beautiful colours of the sea and sky. Our students will finish the day with a brilliant set of images, relaying the fun and colourful nature of Brighton.
