Sharp Shots Photo Club has been invited to exhibit and teach at the exciting Innovate Guildford festival on Saturday March 12. I will be telling people about what I do and how it helps plus tutoring children and young adults on the intricacies of photography including all the creative fun you can have.

Innovate Guildford is part of the nationwide British Science Week running from the 11 – 20 March, with many events throughout the country.

The festival will be open from 10am until 4pm and will showcase some great science and arts innovation taking place in and around Guildford, highlighting cutting edge research with some intriguing sneak previews into the future.

 

Photography: A great way to combine art and science

The aim of the festival is to encourage participation but also to show how science and the arts are inextricably linked. What better medium than photography to show this link? With its amazing innovation, rapid technological advances it’s a favourite with many people. Our children’s photography seminars introduce kids to new technology and how to look at the world more creatively.

Digital cameras have changed how we look at a subject like photography and made it much more accessible to young and old alike. From simple smartphones to high end SLRs, there are plenty of options to look at. Whether you are a beginner or simply want to boost your skill level, come and see us at Innovate Guildford.

London Camera Exchange will be exhibiting some great digital cameras and experts will be on hand to explain how all that great technology gets crammed in! Fuji have kindly donated a very cool Fuji XQ2 Camera for the photography competition which Lillie will be judging, so make sure you get shooting on the day… and you could walk away with a brand new quality Fuji camera!

Innovate is a free festival so anyone can come and explore the different stalls and it promises to be a great day out for all the family. Held at the G Live Centre in Guildford, I’m confident it will be a resounding success! There will be some fantastic interactive demonstrations and displays, and there’ll be diverse artistic performances with plenty of creative workshops taking place throughout the event.

Sharp Shots will have its own room where we will display our student’s photography as well as run children’s photography workshops and tuition for young adults throughout the day.

We’re really looking forward to the event, so please pop by with friends and family and learn about photography courses for children and visit all the other great exhibitors and have a great productive day out!
