Summer is always fun at the seaside, and today’s class is focused on capturing it! Our students will learn more about how their camera makes a photo, and how the manual settings help to take their seaside images to the next level. We will use aperture to capture our favourite rocks and crabs along the shore, and look for stunning compositions to create great seaside landscape photographs. We’ll capture the motion of the seaside through using shutter speed creatively. Our students will learn how to capture the sea gulls sharply in the sky, and stop the motion of the waves against the rocks. They will also learn how to use longer speeds to blur the water, making creative images of the seaside. We will spend the majority of the class outdoors photographing the beautiful Brighton shoreline together, looking for inspiring compositions and fun seaside photographs. Our students will finish the day’s class with a great portfolio of seaside images, ready to show off to friends and family.
Yellowave Beach Sports Venue opened in March 2007. It was set up by Katie Mintram, who as a beach volleyball player was determined to re-create the beachlifestyle she’d experienced after living in Huntington Beach, California and Manly Beach, Australia.
The workshop room offers an open, light and airy space and has uninterrupted sea views. Floor to ceiling windows open up onto an outside deck overlooking the volleyball courts.
Yellowave’s Barefoot Cafe has great food and a relaxing laid-back
atmosphere. It has a lovely decked area looking south west across the volleyball courts to the Brighton Pier. There’s also a free sandy play area for kids with a great playground only a few yards away.
